Farmall Super A Cultivator Parts in Need - HELP

I am looking to purchase Several of the rear pressure rod "eyebolts" (PART #3 in diagram). These peices were used on the Super A - 140 cultivator units that DID NOT have the 1 point hitch. I am looking for a place that makes & sells replacement ones, or original ones. Originality isn't a factor, but price is. I have around 12 sets of cultivators and several of my sets are missing them. I have looked on ebay quite a few times with no luck. There is (was) a place that was remanufacuring the "collar clamp" (PART #2 in diagram) that goes on the spring rod, but I haven't seen the eyebolt peice. If someone knows where I can find these peices, please let me know. THANKS!

512422R3 is still a good part number, about $20.00 at your nearby FIAT dba CIH dealer.

I checked with the dealer I deal with and they said they are in stock at Indianapolis and ready for shipment.

Were you unaware of this or looking for a lower-cost alternative?

I was actually unaware of the part still being available from CASE/IH, HOWEVER I am in fact looking for a lower cost alternative. That is actually a part where originality doesn't matter to me. I just want to have them fastened the correct way and be functional like they should be.

You do have a good point! I believe someone could reman. these for a lot less though. I looked, but now I don't even see the little collar clamps that were offered on ebay last year. Someone was remaking those.

I found out who it was selling the reman. cultivator parts. It is DE Farmall Cubs (they have their own website). That is quite a letdown because it looks like they just handle Cub parts. What I need is for the Super A tractor. Do any of you guys know of a place that specializes in JUST Super A-140 tractors?? I know of SEVERAL Cub specialty places, but not the others. THANKS!

I'm restoring a Super A. If you can go to a Case IH dealer I think you will be surprised at how many parts they have and how quickly they can get them to you. Be prepared to shell out some big bucks though.

I bought a single bushing from them, over $40.00. I bought a shaft and gear for an oil pump $100.00.

Oh, I am well aware! We have 39 Farmall tractors now. All are Cubs, Super A's, 100's, a 130, and several 140's. Oh and an offset LoBoy, and a straight frame 184 LoBoy.

We go to the dealer for many items, however I find most things from other sources for a WHOLE LOT cheaper. We went to get a tie rod end for the 184 LoBoy last year and I think they wanted around 40-50 bucks for it. We held off, and while I was in Lowe's I was looking around. Found some tie rod ends there, and bought one. Went home and compared it to the other one on the tractor...........SAME EXACT PART!!! Guess what the one from Lowe's cost??......$14.00 bucks!

What part of the country are you in? I know someone that has a salvage yard that has that part. He might want to sell everything though rod, spring, etc.

I am located in Alabama. I would be intrested in purchasing the whole sets of Cultivators. Also intretsed in planters and side dressers for Cub & Super A-140 tractors. We will purchase the tractors too. What boneyard are you speaking of? Where is it located? Maybe it would be worth a trip up for a visit.

That was my thought too.

But, if you want to find some old ones, you might want to try Wengers in PA.

I stopped by there on a road trip a few months back - pretty impressive collection of "old stuff".

(quoted from post at 01:58:25 09/14/11) 39 farmalls?

If you add me to your will, I promise not to bump you off.

really, I promise.

: )

Yeah, haha 39 IH/Farmalls (all offset models with the exception of a 200 I am parting out & a 184 LoBoy). We add to that number all of the time though. We bought #39 the other day, and guess what it was.........
one of those Cub LoBoys with the Rare Auburn Trencher & PTO Gear Reducers. Everything is there, and the tractor is in excellent mechanical condition. Pretty neat rig! Here is a picture:

As far as making my own "eyebolts"....that is what I'd rather do having that the dealer wants $20 a peice for them!! Any place used will want AT LEAST $10 a peice, and that is just too much when it is something that can be make or is worth about $1.50 at the most. I'd make my own if I had the time.....PLUS, I am needing about 2 dozen, maybe 3. So..... The search continues!!!
