Upate On 1066 Walking Wedge-Lock

Hi Guys,

Wanted to wait until the jury was in on my wedge lock repair.

Yanked that derned dual off, made sure the tractor was sitting with weight on the wheel and then started tightening the wedge. Taped on the end of the axle with a 2-pound hammer from time to time to get more slack out of it.

All total, got a good 3/8" of additional pull on the cinch bolt.

Put 'er all back together and just finished crawing across 500 acres of hard pulling. Still locked tight and hasn't moved a bit.

It's been awhile since I messed with one of those wedge-locks, but I think the key to getting them tight is to do just like you did, and make sure the weight of the tractor is setting on the wheel, and not on the wedge.
