A friend told me about a late 1086 he knows about with less than 1600 original hours. What should a guy look for on it and what would something like this be worth? Thanks for the help.

Well after buying a low houred 686 i would first check for antifreeze in the engine oil. Thats what happened to me and it cost me a lot to fix it. If those hours are right it should have original tires on it and check the draw bar for wear and three point hitch. Check that the TA works good. Check for engine smoke. Just take your time and look it over good.

Iit is all good like Erik said i would say it would be worth about $15,000 and that is if the paint is also good.

I don't know where this tractor is located but around here I would say it would bring over 20K if the hours can be verified.

Hmmm,

Probably 8 to 10K.

Be careful, nothing harder on an IH diesel tractor that just "sits". They don't like it and go to downhill in a hurry.

Check the oil for antifreeze.
