Farmall A crank start

My Farmall A usually starts in one or two cranks but lately has been taking about a dozen cranks. What should I start with??

Nothing just start and use it under a load if possible or take for a ride at full throttle for an hour or more

I agree with Gene when was the last time you really made it work?? If one is not used hard once in a while they can be come bears to start. Of course things like good fuel and clean plugs helps

Agree with the others - however, keep an eye on your carb. If you see it dripping, it's getting flooded, and that'll take quite a bit of cranking to get past!
