Farmall 140

Here is a question that I would love to have the advice of Hugh McKay. But, I do know many of you out there appreciated and respected what ideas he shared about your tractors. So here is my question to you. I own a 140 with a fast hitch and I have a one pt blade for it. There are times when I would rather have a mid-mount blade for the 140. Did IH or another company make a mid-mount blade for a 140 or similar tractor? If not, does anyone have plans or photos of a mid-mount blade? Your thoughts and ideas are appreciated!

It was called the A-60 then just the #60. It was similar to the Cub blade but bigger (60" wide). If you get one with all the parts, it can be mounted in front for snow or under for grading.

I have a front mount blade on my 140 . I use it to push snow with chains on the rear tires , it does a good job .I have also done some light grading with it .Graded out where stumps had been ground out .
Look around and you can find one .

You can make one relatively easily that attaches to your front cultivator arms. If you can get your hands on an old grader cutting edge, or you can purchase one at the Caterpillar dealer (~65.00) that take a couple of old shanks, use a few holes that are there, attach the shanks with sweep bolts, attach using wedge clamps and bolts and you have a mid-mount blade. (Disclaimer - not pretty, but effective). Good luck!
