I was in a accident in July and my tractor got wrecked. I bought it back from the ins. co. and today I got it going again. I still have a lot to do on it but I have a good start now.

Not too bad had some damage to my heal, still on crutches but getting better every day. No castngs broke just what you see tin and radiator,seat and afew other things. I will drive it around some to make sure nothing is wrong in the trans. and rear end.

Some one fell asleep and crossed the centerline and hit me head on and took the side of my truck and trailer and broke the chain that was holding the tractor and when I jacknifed the tractor went off the trailer on to its top still chained on the back. No one was hurt any worse then me so all is well.

You say a chain broke but then you say the tractor stayed attatched to the trailer? I don't really follow. I see the looped chains up front. Is that how you chain the front of the tractor down? Where did the chain break? What grade chain? I am not trying to knock your methods, but I am sure there is something we could all learn from your experience.
 
I see your point, but I don't think any of us are strong enough to pick up a chain that will hold up during a head on collision, from his description I would say the impact of the other car is what initally broke one chain, and the others held it onto the trailer before it flipped.
I would say you are very lucky to have walked away from that one, and are still able to repair you M.
