Carb choke lever leaks

Having problems with the choke lever leaking gas at times on my Farmall M. Unable to figure out how to fix it or what is going on. I have a new sediment bowl & gas line installed. The carb has a new repair kit in it several years ago. Anybody have any suggestions or particulars to check on? Dennis Stuhr

You've got a leaky needle valve and seat inside the carburetor, or a bad float. There should not be any gasoline in that part of the carb, so if it is leaking past the choke shaft, you need to open up the carburetor again.
 
The choke lever controls the air intake on your carb and there shouldn't be gas high enough in the carb to drip out there. Maybe I am not understanding your question. I would check my fuel supply starting with the float and needle/seat and find out why there is enough gas to overflow into the air intake. You can start by shutting off the fuel at the sediment bowl when you are not running the tractor.
 
As the others mention it's the bowl overfilling with gas. Things to look for/correct:

1 - Float level set to high.

2 - Bit of trash caught in the needle valve, or possibly a bad needle valve/seat.

3 - Pin hole or crack in a float. (Float is "waterlogged" with gas and has sunk.)

4 - Worn float pivot or bent float bracket. Causes the float to rub/bind against the bowl wall.
 
Daves point on shutting off the fuel is critical. All old tractors should have the fuel shut off when not running even for a period as short as 15 minutes. Jim
