For those of you following my 560 project, thought you would like this picture. Best I can tell this around 1983 ish.

In high school we did repaint the tractor, and until now it was used on the farm.

Best effort is being made to get it to my up coming wedding Sept 24th, BUT looks like my quest to have one of the best looking 560's might cause it NOT to attend, which is too bad. But we'll see, we want it to be right. It seems we just keep going farther and farther.... latest is fuel tank, starter, generator removed, ha ha. Plus there are boxes of new parts waiting, all wiring, hoses (water & hyd), emblems, hood hardware, seat, plugs, coil, distributor , carb redone, guages, etc etc etc etc Oh and entire tractor will have professional quality paint with clear coat. Hoods and fenders are getting the REAL treatment.

Like many of these projects, there is more to the story. In july of 2010 my dad passed away by surprise and the month before we were talking about restoring this 560 to something REALLY nice. Needless to say Im doing this...

Planning to bring it to RPRU in 2012 and share it.

I do want to thank EVERYONE for all the comments during my project, Oh and I am sure there will be more.

Sincerely, Chad

It is looking good,DONT shortcut it now!!!! Take all the time needed. You will be MORE happy with your results! It is easier to do right while it is STILL apart than it is to NOT be happy with your results and have to start tearing things back apart to redo them!(Example:You dont wanna have to pull that shiny new hood back off to get at the engine and risk scratching the crap out of your expensive base/clearcoat paintjob !!!!!)

My dad passed in June of 2008(accident)I shortly after restored our 600 Ford(I had that photo up on one of your previous post,Its blue and gray?)

He wouldnt have appreciated the resto! He worked ALL his equipment and got a .06 cent return on his nickel on ANYTHING he owned and used! I removed ALOT of duct tape and bailing wire from that chassis when I was getting it ready for sandblasting!(NO JOKE !!! lol:)

Your tractor looked awesome.... when dad i decided to restore our tractor we, laughed because all the ones we saw at a couple shows like most your see at old tractor events. Dad said "our tractor we did back 25yrs ago looks better than most of these look and we use it daily" it was true, but we were a bit fussy on our farm too. I'm excited about it, it's going to be SUPER nice... Nice to honor dad like this.

Yea,looks like I got the "last laugh" on how the old Ford got to look, but I would rather have him still here using it,duct tape and all.

That Ford is the very first thing I ever drove at 4yrs,but I love the International Harvesters/Farmall Super Ms
For the money I put into my Super M,I cannot believe how much work I can get out of it ???It is absolutely THE best piece of equipment I have ever owned !!!!! Mows, grades, plows, disc, pulls trees, pulls cars, pulled Ford out of the yard to restore, pulled engine out of Ford to be rebuilt!Moved my race car trailer, ect, ect, ect!!!!

Why farm half when you can FarmALL !! :)

Inform your "best" man it is his responsibility to make sure that tractor is READY & complete in plenty of time !! Get after it !!
By all means call in all favors, bring in the whole family & anyone willing to help, that tractor HAS to be ready in time.

Yes BUT we have little issue :) harvest has began a bit early.... so everyone is in the field. It's ok, we have waved off the tractor at the wedding. Fact is that we (bunch of my friends & I) took the re-do to a level that will show when it's done. We all agreed that rushing it would be NOT be the best program here. :)

We'll see what the weather looks like, we get some solid rain out days you never know... ha ha.

I understand, making a living always comes before "play", I certainly agree, it will be awesome when you have it done.
Ok, then maybe, a happy first anniversary party then.

Where do you live Colby? I guess I always assumed Colby, WI but I know they aren't harvesting yet. They will just be starting corn silage the end of this week. I did some feed testing in Bloomer late last week and they were a week out. Most of WI is a hair late this year.

I live in central IL, near Peoria.

Yes, it's going to be done RIGHT.... we pulled radiator today, and also sending off generator & start to rebuild.

It's going to be SO SO nice.
