Price of a Farmall 450

I know of a guy who has a 450 gas sitting in his barn. It was there when he moved in. It doesn't run, and I don't know if the motor is stuck, but the paint is faded and there is no rust. What would be a good offer to give him. He's a good buddy of mine and doesn't know much about tractors. I was thinking 500 or less. The tractor is probaly never gonna be used again unless I buy it and restore it.

It is worth 500 if the tires are flat and not usable. It is worth 1000 if they are OK. Everything on it can be fixed. All partx can be found.
450s are a great competant tractor (meaning TA, Live PTO, Live Hydro, and Fast Hitch.)
Usually a best of breed at a working farm for mediu, chores. Jim

I bought a 450 a year ago for $1700.00 but it was runing. It needed tires, paint, and alot of minor things done to it.Its done now and its a great runing tractor. It replaced a Farmall M.

Evan, $500 Tops, as it sets in the barn... Does not run, cant tell what it will take to get it running or if it is stuck, too many variables here. The only way that tractor is worth in the $1000 range is... if the owner can step up on it, hit the starter and it fires off. If tin is above average!, meaning NO Special work needed to go to paint, Perhaps $600 Only if the Moon and Stars are lined up right and You feel Benevolent! If tires are really nice 80% tread or better then a bump up Perhaps, If old, round, maybe hold air or flat No consideration at all! the tractor will scrap out at about $500! Hope this helps.

Thanks for all your help. The tires are no good, so I'm thinking 300 to 500. I oet you know if I get it, and if i fing out the motor is unstuck.

I don't follow the thinking here. It weighs about 7000 lbs and it would scrap here in pa for about $900.

Hauling it on an appropriate trailer, getting it on the trailer with bad tires, is worth enough to make the 500 where is as is price about right. Plus the tractor is saved! Jim

You forget about two front tires and two BIG rear tires that you have to pay to get rid of. Not to mention all the weight that those four tires add to your 7000 lbs. I think $500 is a little too low here, especially for a 400/450 because you can part a few things out for big money. I would think more lke $700. That is what the tractor junk yard would give you.
