H Engine leaking oil in rear

I posted this before, but its got away from here. Its engine oil, that leaking when I run it. How hard is it to split? I did my grandads 34 CC Case, and the engine on it bolts directly to the trans, no rails. It was a bear, but tolorable. Course, I was younger then also.

Splitting stands are needed, as is a good 5 ton or more hydraulic jack and cribbing to hold up the trans/differential.
The front is way top heavy and is not safe without standsthat aare wider than the tractor by about a foot on each side. Jim

Jim is correct on splitting, it is easy but heavy.

You will see what look like threaded studs coming out of the housing. These are smooth dowel pins with threads on the outside so you can pull them out with a nut. I made the mistake first time of not pulling them, so take them out first. The halves will not slide apart with them in.

Check clutch, throwout and flywheel while you are in there.

When I did my grandads Case, I dug 2 postholes alongside the engine and set posts in them that went over the top and wired them tightly together. That kept the engine from falling over after blocking the front wheels. I had a floor jack under the engine. I had a floor jack under the trans, and when I got it unbolted, I had the jack wired to the drawbar, I just put it in Reverse, and worked it backwards with the pulley. When I had replaced the clutch, bearings, ect, I fastened the jack to the pedestal of the front wheels and had a neighbor with a come along ratchet cable work it as I put it in forward and again worked the pulley to bring it back against the engine. Worked pretty good, but made me pretty nervious. Case sets a good foot or so lower than the H
