Here are all the details I have on it: tin is in good condition, looks to have faded, original paint, four good tires, the ad says it runs good, it has a FEL, and comes with a bush-hog mower. It's about 10 miles from me. He's asking $3000 OBO. What would be a fair price range, based on the info I've given? Thanks.

FEL so does it have power steering??? t does not you will find you can only drive it which ever way the tires are turned because the steering system on the 300U is bad unless it has power steering

The others are correct. A loader can beat the steering to death, if it steers and is not loose, and the axle is not welded to be repaired, the 2500 to 3000 range is OK. Make sure the TA works under load by starting out in 5thTA from stopped Full throttle. Jim

$3,000 or $3,300 (I don't remember which) is what I paid two years ago for an IH350U with TA, power steering, a front end loader, and NO bush hog. I've been very happy with the tractor and very satisfied with the deal.
As always with the utility series, check for steering slop and TA (if so equipped) slip. These are the Utilities' Achilles' heels.
If it doesn't have power steering, I would seriously consider passing on it. I don't think you'd be happy with a front end loader and manual steeing.
