I got an A farmall not running. Got it home cleaned carb it started I unloaded it. Put in new plugs and points and cleaned battery cables.I also had the mag off. Now it wont start. Fly wheel at timing mark and mag clicks at No. 1. At this point the rotor is in the No. 1 position on No. 1 on the cap is thar correct? Tractor spins alot faster than before I cleaned the cables. All 4 have good spark. I took carb off again to check it and noticed intake and exhaust manifold have burned through each other. Probably not getting the correct vacum but why did it run before?

It will not run with that hole (instant massive EGR) I would replace the manifold, or have the old one patched by a good welder. (it can be done)
The piece of rust that is now missing is probably gone out the stack, or laying in the intake manifold, or runners in the head. Get the pieces out for sure. To find out if it is OK, put a single tiny squirt of gasoline in each intake runner, and start it. If it runs you have it correct and ready for a manifold fix. It will run only a moment! Jim

Probably ran the first time due to a dirt dubber nest or some other such thing and then after you played with it you broke some thing free which opened up that hole so now no run. I have a couple of those manifolds laying around that I could sell. E-mail is open
