Plow question

I sure hope this picture works, never tried to post a pic before. My question is what model plow is this and will it work behind my Farmall 460? I know that soil types vary but ballpark what do you think? I've got black soil with little clay. Is this a good plow? I've got 1,000 pounds of wheel weights on the back and fluid in the tires, and another 250 pounds up front. Thanks for any input!

That looks like a real nice plow. Soil type will determine if its good for you. 300 bucks will probably buy it unless there is another you that wants it in the croud

You have more than enough weight. I pull a 3x16 pull plow with my 460 in central IA, running 7 to 10 inches deep and I only have one set of wheel weights on the back, no weight up front. My 560 pulls a 4x16 semi-mounted plow with one set of rear weights just fine, but if you hit a really hard spot the front will come up, but rarely. No fluid in either tractor. The plow looks like a 311. Very nice plow for your 460.

Don't get into the bidding when the bidding starts on the plow. They may have someone bidding to run the price up. Get in the bidding when they seem to be finished bidding if the price is still in your range. Hal

Should be the ideal plow for a 460 w/Fast Hitch. Dad pulled an IH 3x16" pull type with his 460 in NE Iowa. Had one set of weights on back w/no fluid and 3 or 4 "suitcase weights" on the front, but those were mostly to off-set the bale carrier. With the added advantage of weight transfer from the semi-mounted plow, you should be fine with one set of weights on the back, but I'd add some to the front. You already have more weight than you need for that plow.
