Dean, If it is the front seal you can do a seal change under dust cover at the pump input shaft.

If I remember right, the slotted end shaft screws out of the inner shaft. It is larger than the seal, which is on the inner shaft. Put the tractor in gear, pull coil wire for safety, then put a slotted bar in the groove and screw out. It is right hand thread, so left to loose.
 
Exactly correct! It is really tight, a 1/2 inch square bar placed into the slot, and about 3' long when pushed with your feet (trans in High gear, brakes on or wheels blocked) will be an expected mode! Jim
