Got a 48 H. Nerighbor had a couple tree stumps that he said he could move with his foot. I took the H up there and WITH his Ford we BOTH hooked onto them and pulled them out. Boy was I hot. I got hotter when I got home and found the H had sprung a slight leak in front of either the trans, or behind the engine. I tightened everything up, but no good. Im 64, and dont care to break it apart unless theres no other way about it. I was wondering if there was any product I could put in it to seal the leak?

Three fluids can be found in that location, Trans oil (90wt gear oil) Hydraulic fluid from the belly pump (hytran, or 30 wt non detergent engine oil, or Engine oil.
The ear main is the most trouble, as the engine must be removed (tractor split) to repair it.
The trans leak is nex troublesom as the Liftall must be removed, then laying under it either the clutch shaft and top trans seal (input shaft) or the pump drive seal on the counter shaft need to be replaced.
The Liftall is easiest as It can be removed (carefully lowered on threaded rods where the original bolts were) and repaired out from under the tractor. Best of luck hoping it is the Liftall. Jim

My H leaked from everywhere. I replaced the rear main seal on the engine and that is dry as a bone.

The liftall did not stop leaking after a seal replacement. The shaft had enough wear on it that the seal started leaking shortly after replacement. I would recommend that a sleeve-all be installed if there is significant wear on any of the shafts/yokes.

It may stop leaking when it cools down and the oil thickens.
