At the base of the distributor, right behind the drive gear, is a small oil seal. The book shows an o-ring in the seal housing. Anyone ever change that o-ring. If so what size?

When ever I have a dist apart I do. Just a nice soft o-ring that fits works fine as long as it is for hyd and not one for a water faucet.

Pete 23, do you take the seal retainer out or do you just fish out o-ring and replace it. With my luck, I will ruin the seal retainer getting it out. Thanks for your assistance!

You take the shaft out and then just pick out the o-ring. Only take retainer out if you are replacing the bushing and then bushing will just shove it right on out.
