I am looking at a 660 international, above average metal and about 50 per cent rubber. The engine is stuck.what is a descent price for the buyer and seller, also, does it have a turbo charger on it? My phone number is 918-966-2261 or you can e-mail me.Appreciate your help as always.

tommie, Pull the list wt of the tractor from the factory divide by 100 wt= Y x $9.00/100wt = amount offered. Or at least put you in the ballpark!
Or a good rule of thumb on a 5K wt tractor offer about $500. Do not get wild here, All you have is a dead tractor, stuck engine with no way to know how much work and $$$ it will take to get it running again. Or other problems not obvious, just walking around the tractor!
The above average tin might gain some consideration maybe $100 or so if ALL Tin is there and little to no special prep will be needed to get it ready for paint! NO Holes, No Dents, is the Battery box lid there?
Hope this helps!

New kits, bearings, head job, and gaskets will probably get you a good as new engine. Not sure but that sounds like $1500 plus labor. Cracked heads can be a problem for that engine. Not sure if you can make that diagnosis without removing the head.

That tractor might be a good candidate for an engine swap. I'd put in a 4-53 Detroit Diesel. I've seen four cylinder Cummins in a 560. Left frame rail had to be modified.

Most sellers should not expect to get more than scrap value when offering non-running equipment. Too many unknowns for buyer. There are exceptions for very rare models or collectable tractors. I would call the 660 collectable.

The unusual feature of a 660 is the planetary axle. Those axle housings will fit any M or later model. Might be fun to put them on a W-400/450. In first gear low range and the installation of a 560 ring and pinion, you would have a very slow creeper. Top speed in fifth direct might only be 8 mph.

I paid $3000 at auction ten years ago for my 660 but it had an Elwood FWA. It was an excellent purchase.

660 was not equipped at factory with turbo. Other 282 diesels were equipped. Notably the TD-9. Aftermarket kits were also available. M&W maybe.

A TD-9 did not have the sme engine as a 660! TD-9 was a gas start 4 cylinder......660 was a six cylinder if I am not mistaken!

The TD-9 designation was used well into the '70s and maybe beyond. To specify the difference between all TD-9's, one needs to indicate the series.

TD-9 certainly did use the 282 six cylinder engine. The rebuilt injection pump on my 660 carried a tag with "TD-9 written on it.

TD9 used a D335 engine, 5 speed transmission with 1 reverse. TD91 has D350 engine with 4 forward and 2 reverse. The TD92 started the use of the D282 engine.
