684 more hydraulic problems

I posted last week about a 684 with power steering and t/a issues. Yesterday we hooked it up to a brush hog and it ran it for about 10 feet, then the pto started to slip and 10 minutes later the 3 point wouldn't lift the brush hog anymore.

So now with all the issues, I'm pretty sure the hydraulic system is junk. With only 2400 hours, would it be the pump or could this just be the pressure relief valve?

I've also read that the gear on the pump can and does fail? Should we just plan on replacing the pump or is there a cheaper fix to try first?

Still going to try to post some pics today.

Mine had the parking brake left on so many times that it
deteriorated and clogged the system. Had to take the rock shaft off
and clean it out. If I was going up a steep grade, it would all of the
sudden start working again

Like previous poster said, hand brake derbris may
be clogging the screen on the lube transfer pump.
When this happens the section of the rear housings
over fill one side and starve the other side. The
side that runs out of oil is the one where the hyd
pump pulls it's oil from. So,if it works after
standing for a short period of time and then quits
soon after I would suspect the screen is plugged.
If I remember correctly, you can access the screen
from that large round cover on side of tractor
that is for an aux pump to be mounted. To replace
the hand brake band is a major job. Of course,
proper oil level to start with and clean filter
is a must.
