Farmall 656 pto quit

Hello,
Just went to grind feed today and the pto stopped working on my 656. I had started the grinder and stopped it to check something and it would not turn again. It doesn't even try to turn.
Thought it might be low on hyd oil but that was fine. I suspect the clutches are gone. I did notice when mowing last week the pto started slower and slower.
How bad a job it is it to fix that?
Thanks,
YVC

First, check the pressure and/or verify that the miserable little pin hasn't broken in the valve that activates it.

Key # 25.

Someone told me that I should park the tractor on a hill low in the front and that the pto unit comes straight out the back.
Thanks for the help,
YC

Check the pin I posted about FIRST. Since it quit suddenly there's a good chance that's what the problem is, and that can be fixed WITHOUT removing the PTO unit from the tractor!
