New idea loader pistons

I am plumbing a new idea loader on a 1953 super M. I thought the loader arm pistons were single acting-gravity return since there were not ports on both ends of the cylinders. I found this picture on the web which is exactly the same loader and pistons. I am seeing 2 hoses plumbed to the 2 ports near the piston clevis. originally I was thinking one port was hydraulic and the second port was a vent but I"m not understanding how this is plumbed correctly. Is anyone familiar with this type of piston and how should I plumb it? Now, if it is a single acting piston, how do I plumb it through my gresen valves? I have open center 2 way valves to run the bucket (2 way cyl.) the loader (1 way cyl. maybe) and 3pt (2 way cyl.) Is it OK to deadhead the hydraulics through the valve to operate the 1 way loader cylinder return or do I need to run a circuit? Sorry if the description isn"t very clear, I"ve never set up tractor hydraulics before. Here is a link to the picture and I"ll also try to attach it to this post.

If that style cylinder gets pressure at the ram end, and not the cylinder (lower) end, it cannot be two way. There is no method for getting oil through the ram, then back to the ram side of the cylinder unless there were two drilled passages in the Ram. The second hose might go the the other cylinder. Just an observation, I do not know for sure. A single acting valve must be used in an open center system on a one way cylinder. Some valves are designed to be switchable between single and double acting. Jim

Thanks Janicholson. I thought my pistons were one way, I didn't think to connect the pistons in series. Here is a picture of the valve I am trying to use. I believe they are 2-way Gresen valves. You thought I might be able to change a 2 way valve to one way? There is an allen head adjustment in the back of the valve I am guessing is for adjusting pressure (?). Is there any way to use these valves as they are? 2 valves for 2 sets of 2 way pistons and 1 valve for 1 set of 1 way pistons. Thanks again for the info.

Those valves do not allow one way use. The spool in the valve must be able to pressurize one way, and release the pressure on that same port when moved the other way. These are two way valves. and cannot be used on one way (As best as I can tell. The setscrew is probably a limit to travel, not pressure regulation (best guess). A simple one way valve can be found at farm stores and will plumb in the same way. It must be open center style. Jim
