Does anyone know which company manufactured this "aftermarket" seat?

I removed it from a Farmall "H" and installed a "factory" seat

There was an article on these in Red Power a little while back. I seem to remember the name Joy Rider. I don't know if that was the company name or the model. I will do some digging to find the article.

Put that seat back on!some poor farmer spent good money(that he probally didnt have to spend)on that seat. And you will have an unusual, rare option to display, instead of the same old so and so that 400,000+ other Hs have.

We had a "Joy Rider" seat on an IH H years ago when it was our planter tractor. It had a shock absorber & hand crank at the front to allow adjustment in the tension of the seat to allow adjustment to match your weight. For the time it was a fairly comfortable seat.

Hi Delta,
Well if you had driven the "H" that this seat was on, I don't think you would say that! This seat was tilted so far back that it felt as if you were going to slide off the back end. There was no adjustment to change the tilt angle. The only adjustments were for fore and aft and up and down. We tried the adjustments and it never improved the ride. I absolutely hated to drive it.

Thank you. But the rear view shows the "bucket" type seat. Did you modify things to hold the original seat onto this Knoedler cushion mechanism?

I can't say for certain just from the pictures, but it appears that the upright attached to your seat may be turned the other way around from the others. Have you looked to see if reversing that part might change the angle?

I have the same seat on my 1932 F-20. It still had the decal on it before I restored it. I believe the decal either said easy-ride, or Knoedler.

Your post got me to looking closer. Check the two long bolts that go through at the front of the assembly. On the one I removed, the bottom bolt is farther toward the rear. But on the one posted by gold1456, the two bolts are in line vertically. The mystery gets more mysterious!!

I haven't tried to turn any parts around to change the tilt angle.

I took a closer look at the other pictures. Your upright is oriented the same as gold1456's.

Is it possible that something is BENT? The seat surface should ride horizontally if anything.

Yes if you pick it up in person with cash in hand. There are some bad bolts that had to be cut or hammered to get it apart.
