Farmall 560 Carb Question

When the Farmall 560 was introduced it was basically a new engine with the same old M rear end and this lead to many breaks and recalls from international to fix the problem. My question is when the tractor was recalled did they do anything with the carb? i was told they changed the venturi inside the original carb to a different one as well completing the necessary rear end fixes. Can anyone shed light on this?
 
The early rear ends were similar in design but not the same. In the early design phases the 560 was slated to come out with only 40 some horse but when IH heard about the competition they turned up the rpms resulting in more horsepower, and in 1958 making the 560 the biggest tractor available..............until Deere in 60 starting the power race. You can search through the archives for all this information as it has been discussed before. As to your carb question I am sure something was done before production started, but have never heard or read that the carbs were touched in the tent cities.
 
The carburetors were changed but it had nothing to do with the final drive improvements. They went from a double venturi carburetor to a single venturi carb to lessen carb icing problems. Didn't help fuel economy though. Far as originally intended to be 40 horse power, well they already were putting slightly over 50 horse power with the 450 and that same final drive. Very few things on the 560 that were not improved as they went along as is the case with most tractors of all makes and models.

they went to a single venturi from a double, do you know if this double venturi is still in existance??? the whole point of my post was to eventually find a double venturi from a 560.....

I don't know if it is still available in parts but a lot of them are still being run in older 560's so a salvage yard may very well have one.
