Where would I find a manual or exploded view of a Fairbanks Morse x4b11 Mag. I found an olb B in a shed new gas and new plugs it cranked right up after setting over 20 yrs. Runs good, oil pressure good. Has a little miss and I think I should replace points or whatever it has but don't want to take it apart till I can find parts and see whats in there.Am a novice. It doesn't have a coil wire just the 4 plug wire and a thin screw on (distributor like) cap. Thanks John

The link below may be of some help.

Just a suggestion, if it is starting well, the missing problem MAY be other than the points in the mag.

For starters I am thinking that is a replacement mag. I thought IH was making all their own magnetos by this time, so if you are going for a full restoration you will be looking for the proper IH mag.

Now I am guessing that isn't a major concern and you just want it to run right. Three options to get that manual that I know of.

Option 1, spend time asking paper dealers at swapmeets and you will likely find that manual eventually. Other options involve Jensales.

Option 2 is call them and see if they have a used OEM manual for that particular mag.

Option 3 is what they will likely give you as a answer and that is to buy their Magneto book. Book cost's north of $175 but if you are gonna mess with magnetos much it is a nice reference.

BTW almost all magnetos have points and condensor. If memory serves me right to get at the points on that mag you need to retime the rotor when putting it back together. There are marks but you are working blind. If I remember correctly the book has some hints but my copy is half a world away right now.

Hope this helps.
