Hydraulic problem

Have a 59' 340U that the 2 point lift stays in the up position and will not go down. Looking for suggestions on how to trouble shoot.

The check valve preventing rapid or un inteded lowering could be stuck. THe control lever positions should be changed to see if one or another has been positioned wrong.
The pilot screen and orifice could be plugged or stuck, causing the hydraulic system to not pressure up. If the engine changes sound when the lever is moved a stuck check in the top of the cylinder is possible. If the engine sound stays the same I would look to the pilot valve and its tiny easily plugged screen. Jim

Is the pilot valve located by the shifter? I have had the tractor taken apart for a while. Everything worked before I took it apart, so I am thinking that when I had the hydraulic lines disconnected that maybe something got stuck.

caseih.com select your country, at the top of page select find parts, put in 340, scroll to 340 Utility, choose hydraulic system, select 218 hydraulic regulator and safety valve. Jim
