I have an H that needs both belts replaced, however the hand-crank snout is pushed in and stuck so close to the crank pulley that it would be impossible to get a belt past it. i have tried soaking with penatrent, and using a pry bar. i cant get it to move. has anyone else experienced this and what did you do? thanks for your time. This is a picture of my M, not the H.

However, if ya reach in with a large wrecking bar and smack that grab-collar sideways, it'll snap right off at the bolster and fall out the bottom.

I used a crank to start a tractor one time and that was 55 years ago; they are no use to me at all and haven't thought about it since.

the one on my H was rusted and stuck too, I spent about a week spraying the inside and outside with PB Blaster, then used the crank to start working it back and forth, eventually it got loose enough to spin.

I've tapped around lightly with a hammer too on occasion to free those up. I always start my H with the crank since I have to rewire it and have not yet done it.

I've unstuck a couple of them. Plenty of PB Blaster, pry bar on the inside, and a hammer on the outside. Eventually it will start wiggling a bit, and then just keep working it back and forth.
