Super C - replacing the crank belt

I"m replacing my Super C crank belt, but i cant get it to fit under the crank pulley. the pulley is too close to the front framework under the radiator.
To get it to fit, I"ll have to pull the front part of tractor off, then slide it under the pulley into the groove.
Is this normal?

Yes that is always fun. I use the notched belts they are easier to get on the bottom pulley. Get it turned on the side and with a block of wood long enough to drive it thru that narrow opening. Ive replace a bunch of them same with the A and B they have the same problem.

Tilt the belt so it will slide between the pulley and casting.
Possible that someone did not press the crank pulley on far enough during some past repair.

The pulley is installed correct thats why there isnt much room for the belt. If the pulley wasnt on far enough there would be plenty of room.
