adjust touch controls

when lowering the front end loader on my 300 u it seems that the control lever / valve goes over center by itself and stays there. this causes the loader to drop much farther than I want before I catch it, sometimes with unpleasant results.

Is there a way to adjust it?

Sounds like you might have double acting cylinders and your valves
set for single acting or single acting on double setting.Take the rt
hood panel off and look at valve ther is a pin pointing to a d or s
on each valve section it is crossways on a shaft with flats so you
can put a wrench on it and switch back and forth. we had to do it
every year when we put the picker on and off. If that is set to match
your cylinders you have a detent problem inside the valve. hope
that helps. Scottz

it will raise the tractor off the ground with down pressure.... does that indicate anything?

it seems like it's the hydraulic pressure itself doing it.

If you have down pressure that means you definetly have 2 way or
double acting cylinders. that is 2 diferent names for same thing.
could still be valve set wrong or the internal detent that is
supposed to stop the control handle. you may have to take end
covers off spools. Does it do this on all circuits? sz

I only use one circuit... for the front end loader. the rear end works ok.... at least as far as I know. I'll have to check out the valve... thank you
