H4 Magneto Cap Question

I have a H4 mag with a cracked distributor cap. I purchased a new one from a local supplier but the center tower that comes in contact with the rotor does not have the spring loaded brush like my old cap does. The brush that is in the new cap pushes very hard down on the rotor. This does not look right. Has anyone encountered this? Where can I purchase a mag cap with the spring loaded brush in the center?

I think they sold you a cap for an IH DISTRIBUTOR (which has a spring-loaded tab on the ROTOR), rather than for a mag.

Post the make and part number of the cap you got and let's see if that is true!
 
If the area between the plug wire holes is some what crowned sort of like the rounded top on a silo it's a mag cap.

If its flat in between the plug wire protrusions its a distributor cap.

They are not interchangible.

The mag cap I purchased from Tractor Supply Co. Their part number 1831616 the label says Magneto Cap for IHC H4 Magneto. This mag cap looks like a carbon copy of my old cap except for the old one has the spring loaded brush. The tab on the rotor is not spring loaded. It now appears to me that they have the part labeled wrong.
