Farmall H bolster

On my H the top bushing on my bolster is bad. I took it apart and the shaft is worn. I will be replacing the bushing but I was wondering if I can build up the shaft with JB weld or do I have to take it to a machine shop and have it spray welded. This tractor will only be used for tractor rides and hay rides. Thanks in advance.

Lots of 'em have been fixed by welding the worn area and then turning it back to size on a lathe. Forget the spray welding. JB weld might work for awhile, but it sure won't be a permanent fix.

I took my inner shaft and had it welded up. Beads running up and down. Then I machined it down on a lathe until it fit the worn bushing in the bolster casting. I never touched the bushing. Everything came out just fine.
