Hey,

STILL getting ready for "Plow Day".Just bought my extra weights for each rear,(Will have 2 per side on rears.)NO fluid in the tires, pulling a #16 McCormick 3-14 plow(GOOD shares). My old 14.9x 38 Diamond side wall Goodyears have "so so" tread, and the sidewalls are cracking a little and a few spots are "flaking".

Do I even have enough tread to pull with,or not ??? (ALL opinions are welcome!!! :)

I think you have enough tread but I don't think you have enough weight. My M has fluid in the tires and one set of wheel weights and I pull 3-14's. I wouldn't want less weight then I have. I guess it depends on how deep you want to plow.

You should be alright. They are just getting past their prime for tractor pulling. (But the tread pattern is junk for pulling) Actually an antique that could build up some speed could still use them.
As for weight, we had that thread already. For reference, I pull a 3-14 with 4 sets. I get a little spin now and then.

I would run those till I sould see the air in them. A rear on one of my Cubs has a good sized cut in the sidewall. I have another tire but will run the one, till it goes flat.

Well at over $400 each for rear tires that size I would run them till you can not run them any more. With enough weight on it you should pull just fine for a good number more years.

The tires on my old 400 were basically identical in condition. I had 3 sets of weights on back and pulled a 3-14 plow just fine but one more set for a total of 4 sets would of been better. My TA was out so I was pulling about the same gear as you'd be on your M there. just like the others said... with the cost of new rubber today I'd pull em till they dont hold air anymore. weights are cheaper than tires and last longer!

If you think you are going to spin too much just throw a tire chain on the land wheel. BTDT.

Those tires will be just fine and the 2 sets of weights will be plenty. Go have some fun and make that ol' Farmall BARK!
