farming m hydraulics...whats better?

I'm adding live hyd to my old m. I'm adding a smta hyd res ubderpower the tank. My question us would you rather have factory smta live pump it an m& w live pump and why? I have them both on the shelf...thsnks

I think I would rather go SM pump but that means changing out the timing cover on the M to a SM cover. SM pumps while I have not checked in a while but the last I knew had some parts availability. M & W pumps are scarce but parts are scarcer.

Either will be fine, be sure to change the Cam timing gears to later gears from a SM 400 or 450.
They are strong enough to handle the load of hydraulics. I would use the IH pump as there are far more of them. Jim
