Parting out a Farmall C

High everyone my neighbor's Farmall was hit by a
truck and has been broken into three pieces. I am
thinking about parting it out and would like to know
the best way of doing that. He's ok and was not
injured too badly (miracle). The left axle broke at
the transmission housing and transmission is in two
pieces. The tractor has two PTO's in the rear and a
hydraulic system midway up the tractor engine runs
well. Please let me know. Thanks!

If this isn't a thinly-veiled attempt to generate interest, then the process is easy:

1. Disassemble, clean, catalog, and store all salvageable parts.
2. Scrap all unsalvageable parts.
3. Put prices on the parts you want to sell.
4. Advertise in the appropriate venues.
5. Deal with customers in a professional courteous manner.

mkirsch - I don't know what thinly is but you can go
to my site. Like me it's over 40 and true/real. not
thin. see below: My neighbor is not in the picture
but the tractor is. Again I ask what parts should I
save.... Take care and good luck. When I figure out
ebay you can buy some of the parts there. Again take care. Dave or www.davepitcairn.com code name

From the pics on your site, I would say part out the wheels/tires as pairs, sell the seat as is, sell the motor as an assembly, sell the hydraulic lift as an assembly, sell tranny as a unit and then any other sub assemblies or sheet metal, piece out. You could make more money piecing out the transmission but it takes more time and labor. I know if you were closer, i'd like the engine...

ps. kirsch wasn't insulting you, I believe it was just a general comment about posts that are more classified ad than an actual question or comment. It's hard to ask about selling something without sounding like you are just advertising the object, no matter how you try to avoid sounding like a seller.
When you are ready to sell, best to use the classified ad link on this website or your local or favorite listing services.

Thanks for the response I will breakdown the transmission since the housing cracked into two. I also will check into classified add link on the site.

"miracle" is an understatement. I don't see how an operator could survive something like that. A rear ender is my worst nightmare. I drive my SC on the road 2 or 3 times a month collecting manure from a few local horse farms. Scares the poopies outa me every time a driver screams up behind me. I wonder if he is going to slow down. I get off of the road as far as I can, but the ditches are to deep and I can't get all of the way off. I have 2 SMV signs and flashing lights on the trailer.
I don't see an SMV in the photos. did it get blown off?? Of course Most drivers have NO IDEA what SMV means anyway, so does it do any good?
Unless it is on a mail box post.

Just glad your friend is ok..
we can fix the tractor.. JB weld and duct tape..

I have access to a parts Farmall C. Bad engine, but I think the transmission and axles are good. It has no tires or rims, its sitting on the rear hubs. If you are not too far away, it's available cheap. Probably enought to fix the C you have. I'm in Eastern Tennessee.

Hello All,

I have 2 international fenders that are for a Super C etc. They are painted green w/ surface rust but will clean up nice. The one has a dent. How much should I sell them for???

Thank You

He as tough as the come. He had a flashing yellow light on the rear also flew ten feet and hit the pavement. Chuck Norris needs to watch out for him. You can tell that he does not want to get back on it in his eyes. I need to part this out and get a smaller tractor but to be honest about it I don't know if there a better solution than the Farmall cultivators. He grows produce to sell. Thanks Dave.
