How come my pair is bigger than his pair?

I purchased these fenders about 10 years ago from Steel Wheel Ranch. Just got around to mounting them. Both tractors are 660's with owner installed Fast Hitches. I can't find the bigger set in the parts book. Did IH just upsize all the fenders or are the larger fenders specific to a particular model?

i wonder about this also. someone told me that the 1959's had the narrow ones.my 1959 660 has narrow fenders, and my 1960 has wide fenders.BUT the 560's both 1962,one has wide and one has narrow. i keep seeing both types on these tractors and dont really know what the reasoning is.ohh my buddy has a 1960 660 and his has narrow fenders, so devil knows.

I wonder it as well as my 560W has the wide fenders.

Jim,

Maybe in your book but not mine.

I'd rather have the smaller fenders. There is no way I can see the tires and which one maybe losing traction. I'll have to set up a couple of cameras and monitors.

Or maybe I could use an audio signal similar to a balloon on a bicycle wheel.

The on-line parts catalog on the CaseIH site lists 2 different part numbers for fenders and references notes B and C. I couldn't find the notes on-line. Checking a microfiche copy, the notes mentioned "full coverage".

Part # for 1nternational 660 and 560 full coverage fenders starts with 374. Most times the 374 starting number is for improvement parts IH started offering after a tractor model was already in production. Can't say for sure thats the case on the fenders.
