My 1086 will not leave park. It will go into high and low but not reverse. When you let the clutch out it makes a terrible noise or dies. I took the cover off the range lever and have noticed that the block down in there moves back and forth, but will not get out of park. I can"t see anything broken down in there. Is that roller supposed to snag on a notch?

Take a look under the cab on right side where a bell crank is that operates the park pawl. I think you may find it is part way engaged and needs to be flipped all the way up. Don't know how to explain it but in other words it didn't come all the way out of park, not uncommon on those 86 series.

Thanks, I'll take a look under there. I have the oversized tanks that cover a large section under there. Hopefully I can get to it.

Lift the floor mat and remove the panel and you will see it .It maybe that the cab mounts have settled and has things out of line .
