Earthquake at Tractor Shed

Yesterday 1 hour before the eastcoast Earthquake I walked to tractor shed. As I walked by goat lot the goats were bedded down like it was 3 AM on the coldest nite of the Year! Did any one else notice strange stock behavior? Do animals predict?

Our 6 year old Keeshond was acting weird when we came in from picking peaches in PA. Then we heard the news about the earthquake. Hal

It's been studied before and it seems animals CAN feel something an hour or so ahead of an earthquake. I have a brother-in-law that lives about 75 yds. from the San Andreous fault just south of the bay area, but he's not an animal lover... I've told him before if they had a dog, they could be better forewarned. Also told him since he's on the east side of the fault, someday he will have "ocean front property".

My goats didn't act any differently.

But all my goats tend to swim in the shallow end of the IQ pool anyways.

Though to be fair, I'm in MA, so it was only barely perceptable here.

Hmm, I don't know. I live near Christchurch, New Zealand and we have been getting shakes for a year now, that have destroyed most of the city center.

My dog will act up a bit before some shakes - usually this is the same ones that I can hear coming. The low frequency rumble is barely audible, but when I hear it,, 9 out of 10, the dog acts up too. For many quakes though the local animals are as surprised as the rest of us....
