706 power steering

i just finished putting together a 706. had to put a motor in it, it had been sitting for 6 years now i cant seem to get the steering to work. the 3pt works and the rear outlets work. i have been turning the steering wheel in both directions. what should i check for. thanks

Dump in three to five gallon of extra hy tran and run the engine at around 1800-2000 and turn the wheel to the left. It should bleed out and pick up the prime . Your steering , brakes and T/A work off a different pump then the hitch. It is mounted on the MCV valve in the left side of the center section . If it plum refuses to pick up prime then it is really time for a new pump.
