Cub Headlights Black Stuff ????

Been working on getting my Lo Boy finished and all that is left are headlights and air filter. Dont have pics of up to date progress, but will try and post soon. Took apart headlights to get old paint and rust off. Also took that crumbling black stuff off of lenses. What do I replace that black stuff with and how do I put it on the lense and put it all back together? Thanks

The "crumbling black stuff" sounds like the original gasket or some old compound from a tube or can.

I believe OEM Tractor Parts or Steiners sells the gasket. I think there is a back and a front side to the molded rubber gasket.

Yup, gaskets. They were rubber. They are still available, and the headlights are the same for all the early letter series tractors. Try Joes' farmalls. I see them all the time at shows.
