Tel-A-Depth: Worth saving?

The tel-a-depth on my Ih 340 U is always out of whack. goes up or down on its own, or doesnt go down, or up, far enough. Very difficult to use a bush hog with it because of the difficulty getting it to the right height. Is it worth taking apart and trying to adjust? Or should I just put a different valve in it? Can I use the single/double acting valve in the same valve bank? As always, advice is greatly appreciated.

You can use one of the other valves, not sure whether the existing cylinder will work because it is set up for tel-a-depth. It can be changed. If it was mine I would try to fix it. The other valve will require you to set the height above the ground of the bushhog or anything else each time you lower the hitch. The big advantage of the tel-a-depth is that it returns to the same height or depth each time it is lowered.
