In my part of the country, Ih rear wheel weights are scarce as hens teeth. I think this is due to tractor pulling. I let 3 sets go on a farmall 300 i used to own.(i still can't beleive i did that) I now own 7 sets. Wish i had more. Just wondering, how many sets do all you IH guys have out there in your collections? Thanks Kent

I think I have 3 sets of the one piece, and 1 set of the split weights. I'd like to have at least 4 more sets, but when I find them at auctions, everyone else seems to think they are made of gold.

I've got a nice set like the ones pictured that came off my Farmall 230 I parted out. They are For Sale (and whats left of the whole tractor too) if someone wants to come to Alabama to pick them up.

The last 10 working years or so of my Dad's life, he worked at a place that built heavy equipment. He had worked off the small farm since 1956, but only about 10 at this place. Dad had an H with factory weights and he traced a copy of the weight, then took that to a guy that made templates for an automatic torch. He made up a template which Dad took to a guy running a computerized torch, who cut Dad a set of weights from a 1" or maybe a little thicker steel plate. He put those weights on his 460. Not sure what they weighed, but from 20' away, they looked like factory weights. He did the same for a set of 4 (I think it was) "suitcase" weights that he needed mainly for carrying big round bales.
BTW, I only have one set of weights off a B on my 240U.

Just one on my 200, but I might consider welding them to the cast centers . . . to keep them from getting lifted.

I've got one set on my 300, and two sets (although not the Farmall ones) on my W450 but I could use some more (for tractor pulling of course) because I can't even slow the WD-9 down yet. Sam

Seven sets on this tractor

Plus another forty or so mounted and unmounted. Sold two sets last year and almost immediately found two more sets that I didn't know I had. Bought most of my weights for around $20-25 many years ago.

Tractorsam,

Next time you are in Massachusetts, bring that Electrall gearbox and I'll load you up with W-9 weights.

29 sets on 11 tractors. Anywhere from zero sets on my C with belly mower to 5 sets on my SMTA with loader and 450. One can never have too much weight!

Sounds good to me. I should probably have a look at that Field Marshall of yours while I'm down there if you still have it? Sam

Two sets of split weights. One set on the 504 and one Set to put on the 504. I just have not sandblasted/painted them nor made the square headed bolts to hang them on the first set.

"rhtx55" and I both live in the deep, central south. IH's are still around, but not like the JD's. We both find it hard to find cast weights for our old iron. I actually drove from Natchitoches, LA to Starkville, MS to get a set of used 13.8x38's on rims, a set of weights, steering shafts, and misc parts for a 504. That trip took over 16 hours. Mostly because the guy selling the parts made me and my dad remove them ourselves with his bag of mismatched, BS tools. If I had known I would have rolled in with tools and a torch. Live and learn.

I grew up in east central Indiana, many places to find " parts" there, so I tend to make a "pilgrimage" each year.
I was talking to a gentleman at a show who told me Internationals were boycotted by the state for a few years during IHC's anti-trust lawsuit. I don't know how accurate that may be, but you are right, there is certainly more green here than red. I find that a shame since most of the initial Farmall regular testing was done here.
The best one I have found up north is in Portland Indiana each August. If it happens to rain that weekend , it's pretty much a bust. I doubt if I make it this year due to gas prices & the heat. Been to Canton a few times & they have a few there from time to time, but again, the heat has everything down this year.

Ken

I've got 5 sets on my tractors and I know where there are 13 more that will probably be going to the scrapper soon, but not if I can help it.

No wonder IH weights are so hard to find. Guys like Randy are hogging all the weights. LOL
I think i'm addicted to weights just like tractors. I think about buying tractors i don't even want just because they have rear wheel weights.
Keep looking everybody. Kent
