Not really as in...worth to fix up, worth it to re-sell, worth it to part out??

My stipulations are considering buying it ONLY if the engine is free and wheel hubs are not rusted and frozen up.

It"s worth it if that"s the kind of thing you"re looking for. See if motor is free or not.

Is the door glass there? Sometimes broken glass on old vehicles can be an issue.

See if you can find the reason it was parked. Make sure it doesn"t have something major wrong with the powertrain or be willing to swap to later model stuff.

At that price you can"t really get hurt because that"s not much more than it would scrap for.

From the photos it looks pretty complete.

It's worth it if you want it.

If 500 bucks is going to hurt you - then NO, it's not worth it.

Because you'll mostly likely be putting an easy $1000 into tie rods, wheel bearings, shocks, tires, exhaust, etc etc etc. just to make it road worthy. A clutch here, a starter there - you could be up to 2 grand before you know it.

Then you've get to drive around hoping the engine doesn't just give out.

Not to discourage you, but keeping an old vehicle alive is usually an all or nothing situation.

Either you rebuild it all once, or you keep your check book handy for the daily part replacements you'll be doing until you finally decide to sell it!

Of course, I speak from the northeast - land of caustic road salt. Not sure where you are - and judging from the fact that the fenders aren't all gone around the wheel wells, I'm assuming you're somewhere warmer.

So things could be a lot different where you are.

Either way - there's nothing saying that spending money like that on an old vehicle is a WASTE. It's not, if you enjoy driving it. As long as your expectations are reasonable and you know what you're getting into.

It will have a 292 Y Block, or a Big block Ford of various CID. The 292 is not common anymore, makes OK power, but is heavy for output. THe big b;ocks are well known and lived long beyond the 292-312 series. I like old ford trucks, nut that one is not worth a dime more than 400 if free turning Jim

I see it is advertised as a 1962 its a 1960,if it has the y-block 292 v8,it is worth $500,if the engine is any good.these engines are getting hard to find.i am running the 312 in my 56 ford fairlane, gets great gas milage with the 3-speed overdrive trans.the stepside box is probably worth $500 if its decent. Jim

at very least you could part it and double yer money if you wanted to even bother, as far as a restore piece you really have to crawl under and look at the frame, where the body meets the frame.
with that said yea if you are a collector/restore guy then for 500 yea it's worth it.
if your just looking for a classic truck you might be better off going elswhere...hope that helped??

Thanks guys. IDK, I might give it a while cause I'm sure no one at work will bite
