I have a 1960 Farmall 140 tractor with the 1 point Fast Hitch. My question is....can the runner planter/side dresser unit be used (if so, how) while the Fast Hitch is installed? OR Will I have to completely remove the Fast Hitch to use the planter?

The pictures below, are of the 140 tractor I am wanting to use the planter on, the picture of the planter/side dresser unit on the pallet is what I want to install on the 140.

THANKS FOR THE HELP!!

Yes, if the planter is from a Super A thru a 140 and is a mid mount unit it should work if all the parts are there. You will have to remove the rod from the lift arm (in front of the clutch petal) that runs down to the bail on the one point hitch. Raise the front of the one point hitch and connect it to a stub rod which should be bolted to the bottom of the foot platform.

On my 140 the fast hitch comes off by removing 3 pins. The first,, a shear pin at the front of the bail, then the 2 out of the lift arms.

Then as the other poster described the shaft from the bail to the hydraulic lift arm comes off and the bail attches near the brake pedals.

This we had to do the put the cultivators on.

Hope this helps you get the planter installed.

Could someone please post a picture of said "Stud Rod" under the platform. THANKS!
