Since an I-4 is supposed to be the "industrial" version of a Farmall H, is it possible to add a hydraulic lift all system for implements? I have the opportunity to purchase one but need to be able to run a mower deck up at about 10-12 inches for topping grass in sheep fields.

Thanks in advance,
Andy

Someone may correct on this but I think all the industrials prior to the models with distributer driven live pumps used a pump driven from the crankshaft via a driveshaft through the front bolster.

There are tapped holes in the bolster for mounting a pump. Almost anything will do if it has a 2, 4, or 6 bolt mounting flange. Ya, you will probably have to make an adaptor in a lathe or vertical miller. You need 5 to 15 gallons per minute.

You can get the shaft, solid couplings, Lovejoys or equivalent through Surplus Center. They have splined shafts and couplers too if you wind up with the splined pump input.

Forgot to mention you will also need a reservoir, open center valve, hoses, and maybe quick disconnects. You will be spending possibly $500 if everything is purchased new.
