H with Hitachi Alternator

I am putting my H back together and plan to install the Hitachi alternator from the 1978 Nissan 720.

Does it use the standard H belt, or do I need a different length?

Depending on brackets, the stock belt is fine. Jim

On an M, all you have to do is flip the bracket.

David, I converted a Farmall H to 12 volts with the Hitachi 14231 alternator and after turning the original bracket upside down the only other thing I did to be able to use the original belt from the generator was to place a split washer between the two pulley halves provided with the alternator. The belt pulley for the Niassin application appeared to be for a narrower belt. That change allowed a better fit of the original belt to the new alternator pulley, Hal.
