M farmall, thank you pictures

Following protocol, the dog is named Duncan, he is an AKC registered, northern plains pheasant retriever. These photos are for sflem849,rustyfarmall,janicholson, john t, and everyone else who so patiently answered my questions. I learned of this websight in March from farm show magazine. I have asked questions that I know have been answered many times before. The tractors are a 1949 M that I bought up in Indiana at Willow Branch in 1973, hooked to the bush hog. A super MTA that I acquired in 1992, hooked to the hay rake. A 1944 M hooked to the Landpride 35-90. These are working tractors, all with recently overhauled engines and new axle bearings along with tons of other stuff like radiators and rebuilt M&W clutches. I don't do the parade thing because of transporting them, and they get dinged occasionally from normal use. My farm is in Northern Ky close to the Ohio River. Ellis Kinney

Looks like a little different style of front wheel on the M with the brush cutter. What can you tell us about them and what kind of seats are those?

The seats were purchased from K&M manufacturing co. Renville, Minnesota. Approx. 100.00 / seat. For comfort they are far superior to a hub cap. The front wheels on the 44 M are very similar to the rear wheels and rims in that they bolt on with knuckles instead of directly to the rims.
I don't know if they are after market or made by IH but I could look for casting id numbers the next time I am at the farm if you want me to. ??

Those are early style front rims, I know the 39's & 40's had them, but I'm not sure when they went to the later style wheel. Looks like the center cap is like what was used to mount a corn picker.

Judging from the size of the oil filter on that M, I would have guessed it is earlier than a 1944, but I don't know for sure when the change-over was made.

Those front wheels are the non-adjustable style, also indicitive of an early M.

Noticed the oil filter also Rusty. Think the last month of 1942 was the change on a M tractor.
Nice looking tractors.

Glad to hear you made that up. I thought I was losing my dog ID-ing touch.

Cuz that looks an awful lot like a NorthEastern Tire-Blocker to me.

I've got one that's very similar.

I'm thinking of officially changing his name to "Will you please get the hell out of the way".

Fantastic pictures - thanks for posting.
