IH UC-263 power unit fuel pump

I have an IH UC-263 power unit on which the mechanical fuel pump only pumps at high rpms, making starting a chore. I have tried with many parts houses to find this pump but it is not listed anywhere. I am hoping one of the experts here could possibly shed some light on a modern part number or cross that will be suitable.

Thank you very much in advance for your time.

I would suspect a fuel pump for a 60's or 70's 6 cyl small displacement IH truck engine would bolt right on, but some plumbing changes MIGHT be needed. If you decide to try that, make SURE the lever arm shape and travel match the old one!

Or, you might try contacting Cardone Rebuilders for a participating reseller in your area... they (used to anyway) have a rebuild and return program for obsolete pumps, etc., or perhaps they can come up with an off-the-shelf pump for you.

(BTW, have you considered simply installing an electric pump?)

Thanks for the lead and info. The unit is being restored as it was my employer"s first power unit which he used to run hydraulic diamond tooled concrete saws. Any idea of what a suitable GPH range might be if an electric pump is the only way to attain running condition? Perhaps I could cut the arm off and gut the present pump and plumb the electric one through it.

Thank you.
