Dad shut the 10 down while using the batwing this afternoon to listen for a herd of cattle he thought to be over the next hill. When he went back to the tractor, it wouldn't fire the starter. No fuel gauge, oil light, nothing on the dash. Had air blower and lights (hooked up direct off of fuses. Had to jump across with a screwdriver. I'm sure some wire got snagged by some brush, will get the meter out tomorrow and start tracing, I figure it to be either the batt. supply or the ground to the keyswitch itself, any other ideas to possibly save some troubleshooting time?

I would look at the heavy wire from the starter switch/solenoid) that leads to the key. It could be broken higher than the parts exposed. from pulling, or from vibration. Jim

Thanks Jim, will start there in the morning. Vet, thought the 86 series was the first with the safety, ours obviously disabled by the PO

The 56 series had the safety switch for sure and I believe the 06 series had them before that.
