Well, I thought I had put the clutch plate in backwards on the Regular. Well, I didn't.....it was in right. Still couldn't get the clutch to work.

Took the clutch totally apart, and cleaned everything up. Springs, pressure plate, fingers, etc. etc. Put it back together this morning, and set it to specs.

works like a champ.

rather pleased with myself. Not sure what the heck was wrong, but it works now. My guess is that it was totally out of adjustment......and the springs were really crudded up. Will never be sure what was wrong. Now if I can just get my shoulder back into place from patting myself on the back!!!!! LOL.

Most important thing is to make sure you move the clutch one and a while, ie dont let it set for 6 months plus with no activity, they have a tendency to set up over long periods of setting, been my findings with them.

Andrew, I agree. I have replaced clutch disks before, but never took the entire clutch apart......always sent them out. This was a first for me, and quite frankly, wasn't all that bad. tedious, but not that complicated. I have the IT manual for adjusting it correctly, so that was not an issue either.

I hope to have this old girl running this week if the weather holds out. On vacation this week and next, and am getting alot of odd jobs done, and using the tractor repairs as "filler".

Tom are you saying you rebuilt the pressure plate yourself? I"ve had that in the back of my mind on my F-12. Just didn"t know where to go for like springs and such.

Seth, yes, I dismantled the pressure plate totally. I was able to re-use the springs as they were in decent shape. In fact the whole assembly was in decent shape. Needed cleaned badly as it was full of dust and grit.

Case IH should still have the springs. If not check with Gordon Rice. Also, if you get into it and have questions, you can call me and I'll share what I did and learned about it.
