39 H Grill

am trying to complete my 39 H but noticed when putting the grill on I do not have the correct fasteners for it, I thought there were threaded holes in the radiator support to bolt it into, All I see is a wire that appears to run across the hole is this made for some sort of 1/4 turn fastener?? any direction would be appreciated

Search for a Dzus fastener. They were used on quite a bit of the early letter series sheet metal, originally intended for aircraft I believe. They can still be had new. Best of luck, Sam

I know Pilot Knob and OEM sell them. They are not cheap though, $15-20 each

I have them used at 15.00 each plus shipping

tractorsam is correct, Dzus fastners were used on aircraft, have them on my 1948 Luscombe, they are available from Aircraft Spruce. Alan

OK so I Thank everyone for there help in identifying the hood fastener, we now know it is a DZUS 14 turn fastener, I caled the Aircraft supply store in town at the local airport, and I was asked What # fastener, can I again ask for some help???
