Grain Binder

I have an old grain binder. The guy is going to scrap it out and I don't want to see it go. Any Idea of what exactly it is? IS anyone interested?

I sold one this year waiting for the guy to pick it up yet but he sent the check this spring and it cleared got $100 for it. Non working also.

It apears to be old ground drive McCormick Deering, Not worth much, cost a lot to rebuild. Some times you just have to let the tail go with the hide.

I have one in about the same shape. I just let it set in the woods so I can stop and reflect on things once in a while as I look at it.

well, you can also get it and dismantle it for the parts. If you have patience, there will be a buyer for some or all parts.

These things rot away pretty quickly when left outside. This one looks to be about gone. I'd say salvage some of the desirable parts off it (Tool box, iron wheels, etc.) and let it go to scrap. If you want one, hunt around and find one that has been stored inside. You can buy it a lot cheaper than you can restore this one.

Just took my dad's to scrap yard just to far gone been in the junk pile for 40 years, saved the wheels and I guess some kind of deflecter off the back with the IHC brand stamped tool box was taken off years ago and saved in the shed.

Location a problem but even too far gone to repair possibly parts in the knotter and other gears still good? These are still used in Amish area and parts hard to get.
