SMTA grill price

Whats the going rate for a nice SMTA grill going for? I bought a M for $300 and It has a SMTA grill on it Im looking to sell it. I seen 1 on E-Bay for $585 buy it now price. But thats the only one Ive seen For Sale. The one I have is nicer then that one.

$300 to $500. Maybe higher if excellent. I bought a fairly decent one about four years ago at auction for $185. When the repros were available several years ago, they sold for $400. Still have one in its original box.

A SMTA hood just sold on eBay for $255. It was a little dinged up around the exhaust hole.

I sold mine back in the spring on ebay for 490.00 in 100% body shop finished just needed paint. It depends on the area and some of the prices on ebay I think is fake. Seems like you see an item really sell high and you don't get near the price a week or two later.

I have to follow this thread. I had a friend buy a SM grill for $150 shipped a few years back. When he got it he was SUPER mad because he got a SMTA grill rather than a SM grill. The guy said he could return it if he wasn't happy, but he had to cover return shipping. I told him to keep it and sell it. He could actually make money on the deal.
Sorry, no value here but I did have a cool story.

Bates Corp has begun to recondition grills. I need one for my Super M -- they want $650. Not going to pay that until I get desparate.

I have a grill and hood for my old H that is in tough shape. Took it into local body shop, he estimated $1000.00 just for grill and cap. Did some horse trading with labor for parts with another guy and luckily got a really nice grill and hood. Still have the old original. Does not the vocational schools do some of this work for just material costs. I have been meaning to check but never get around to it.

CNKS on the super, a grill from most post early model M tractors will work if the price and condition is okay. Fill in the M emblem mounting holes and drill two holes for the SM emblem.

That's what I'm going to do, but I haven't looked very hard yet -- Actually I wouldn't care if it was a SMTA grill, I believe you said one time that the SM never had the wide spaced holes, but that the replacement grill, when IH still made it did, or maybe the holes just had the outline. All I need is one that hasn't been beat up beyond my metal working skills, which don't go much beyond a hammer.

$200.00 to $400.00 SLIGHTY "dinged up"!

I bought mine in really good shape for $200.00 shipped.(Standard and NOT the wide hole spaced grill.)I know the ones with the wide hole spacing or the ones with the "blank" areas for the wide hole spacing can be much more expensive.
